The primary goal of Director Bodurow’s Faculty SEED grant was to further identify the relationship which emerged between infrastructure and vacancy in the city during the Ford

C3 project, and prompted recommendations for generative uses, focusing on hybrid renewable energy, target mixed use density, water cycle management and reforestation, in support of sustainable community and economic growth. Vacancy becomes a generative infrastructure – generative of emergent spatial, social, and natural systems – when hybridized with adjacent blue|green|gray+white infrastructure – creating a new geography which speaks to the future form of the city.
