City of Southfield: Vision for the City Centre


Southfield, Michigan, April 2012-current, under contract to the City of Southfield City Centre Board and Planning Director, Terry Croad

studio[Ci] has served as urban designer of record for the City of Southfield to create a more sustainable, dense, walkable, bikeable, mixed-use vision for the Southfield City Centre and the Lower Evergreen/10 Mile (Evershire) Districts. we completed Phase I (in 2014), which proposed approximately 1 million s.f. of mixed use, sustainable development and infrastructure in the City Centre; and Phase II (completed in 2014), which proposed over 1,000 new residential units in the Evershire neighborhood and the “daylighting” of a creek to create a Greenway for the neighborhood; In Phase III (ongoing) s’[Ci] created a non-motorized plan for the Northwestern Highway Corridor, including circulation and placemaking strategies.
